The Autobots successfully test a new super-weapon, the Negavator, when the Decepticons attack. The Autobots are able to repel the Decepticons, but a missile from Rumble wounds Red Alert.

Red Alert begins acting paranoid and irrational, since his logic circuits were damaged by Rumble's missile. The Autobots transport the Negavator and escort it from the base, as the Decepticons lie in wait for them. Red Alert's detection systems fail as well, allowing the Decepticon to ambush the Autobots.

Smokescreen blinds the Decepticon Jets, while Grapple and Hoist free the other Autobots from an avalanche. The Decepticons retreat, abandoning Starscream, while Red Alert freaks out and goes AWOL. In an empty warehouse, Starscream approaches Red Alert and asks him to help him to take control of the Negavator, so that they can get revenge on both the Autobots and Decepticons.

Optimus stores the Negavator in a secure facility, but Red Alert helps Starscream get past all of the security sensors. The two of them take over the Negavator and attempt to escape, but Optimus and the Autobots intervene, as well as Megatron and the Decepticons.

Starscream blasts Red Alert with his Null Ray, which stabilizes his logic circuits. Red Alert then tells the Decepticons that the Negavator is set to self-destruct, causing the Decepticons to retreat. The Negavator explodes, trapping Red Alert inside the complex, but Inferno rescues him.
