A PLAGUE OF INSECTICONS

On the Pacific Island of Bali, in the section known a "Demon Swamp", previously unseen forms of Decepticons called Insecticons are discovered. The three Insecticons, Kickback, Shrapnel and Bombshell live by devouring anything they can find and converting it into Energon.

Panicked reports draw the attention of both the Autobots and Decepticons, as both factions send parties to investigate.

Skyfire flies Windcharger, Bumblebee, Brawn and Spike to Bali, while Megatron, Thundercracker, Soundwave and the Cassettes leave as well. Optimus Prime leads a third party to back up Skyfire.

Megatron reveals that the Insecticons' nest was actually a Decepticon Escape Module that was launched before the Decepticon starship crashed on Earth Four Million Years earlier, and the Insecticons were modified to resemble Earth insects.

Delayed by a parade, the ground party of Autobots try to burrow under the procession while Skyfire's party arrives at the farm where the Insecticon feast. The Insecticons create clones of themselves out of metallic wreckage and proceed to attack the Autobots on the farm, as Megatron arrives.

Finally, the ground party arrives to repel the Decepticons and Insecticons. The Autobots pursue them. The Insecticons assault Skyfire and Wheeljack, as the Decepticons and Insecticon Clone invade an Oil Refinery.

Meanwhile, Shrapnel overpowers Sunstreaker's and Sideswipe's bodies causing them to attempt collisions with the other Autobots, but Trailbreaker's Force field breaks his control. The Insecticons retreat to join Megatron at the refinery, where they begin to feast upon the oil.

The Autobots arrive to stop the Insecticons and Decepticons and a melee ensues. The Insecticons channel lightning through their bodies and focus it against the Autobots. The Autobots use rubber tires to insulate themselves against the electrified assault, so Megatron ignites a tanker in hope of destroying the refinery and the Autobots, but Optimus stops him. As they Megatron fights, the Insecticons devour his Energon. Megatron forgets about the Autobots and chases the fleeing, treacherous Insecticons.
