DIVIDE & CONQUER

To meet the Decepticon threat, and to supplement the Autobots' efforts, humanity begins to manufacture weapons capable of fighting the Decepticons. One such munitions plant, where Chip Chase is visiting, is attacked by Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp and Soundwave.

At Autobot Headquarters, Optimus Prime reports back that he cannot ascertain where the Spacebridge will appear next by examining its former location. Just as Optimus and Spike are about to leave, they receive a distress call from the munitions plant. Optimus orders the Autobots to meet him there immediately.

The Starscream having drained the plant of all energy, reports back to Megatron , and seeks to be praised for his successful mission, but Megatron is more concerned with getting the Energon Cubes sent to Cybertron. Suddenly, Optimus Prime bursts into the plant, but is met with blasts from the Jets. Optimus continues to fight the three Jets and has the upperhand, until he uses his body as a shield to protect some humans. While he is distracted the Jets all blast him simultaneously and are ordered to escape with the Energon Cubes when the other Autobots arrive.

The badly damaged Optimus Prime is towed back to the Volcano for repairs, while Megatron orders that Prime's Lasercore needs to be extinguished. Laserbeak is sent to spy on the Autobots and finish off Prime, if necessary. Laserbeak blasts Prime's open chest cavity, causing Prime to explode.

Prime survives the attack, barely, but he needs a new Cosmotron. The only available one is in Wheeljack's old lab on Cybertron, which has been electronically locked by the Decepticons. Chip is volunteered to be the "lock pick" as the Autobots plan to stow away aboard the Spacebridge. Chip, using Teletran One, predicts where the Spacebridge would next appear.

After the Decepticons send a shipment of Energon Cubes, and an unwilling Reflector Clone as pilot, the Autobots, Ironhide, Trailbreaker, Bluestreak, Bumblebee and Chip, arrive. Megatron orders the Decepticons present to allow the Autobots to board the Spacebridge. The Autobots subdue the Decepticons and enter the Spacebridge, appearing inside of Shockwave's facility on Cybertron. Ironhide glues Shockwave's feet to the floor and the Autobots escape. The Autobots retrieve the Cosmotron with ease, but Megatron orders his warriors on Cybertron to destroy the Autobots by causing a storm of acid rain to fall upon them, which shorts out the Autobots.

On Earth, the Decepticons move out to attack the divided and leaderless Autobots in the Volcano.

Back on Cybertron, Trailbreaker uses his Force Field to shield the Autobots and Chip from the torrents of Acid Rain, allowing their Automatic Repair Systems to take over, as Bluestreak dissipates the acidic clouds.

The Autobots roar past Shockwave and back into the Spacebridge, and rush back to the Volcano with the Cosmotron. The Autobots go out to fight the Decepticons while Ratchet and Wheeljack work on Optimus. The Decepticons appear to gain the upper hand in the battle until Megatron proudly boasts a challenge, and to his shock, the newly repaired Optimus prime answers his challenge.

Optimus forces Megatron, who is low on energy, to yield, and the Decepticons retreat.
