TRANSPORT TO OBLIVION

The episode begins with Optimus Prime and Ironhide watching the sun (rise/set) when panicked Cliffjumper blasts a rock resembling a Decepticon Jet. Ironhide expresses that there should be no concern, since the Decepticons crashed into the sea months before. Optimus Prime was not quite so certain of the Decepticons' demise.

Meanwhile, Shockwave, still on the deathly fuel-deficient Cybertron, is able to contact Megatron, who is dwelling with the other Decepticons in their crashed Spacecruiser, converted into an Undersea Base. Cybertron is shown to have drifted far outside of the Galaxy. Shockwave requests that energy be sent to Cybertron immediately, for there is a dire fuel shortage. The Decepticons emerge from hiding and begin plundering Earth's resources anew.

Investigating a citywide blackout, Teletran One discovers that the local Solar Power Station has been invaded. Optimus Prime assembles a strike force to stop the Decepticons. A battle ensues and the Decepticons escape with the Energon Cubes.

Bumblebee and Spike are sent out to spy on the Decepticons and discover how they intend to send Energon to Cybertron.

Shockwave informs Megatron that he is in possession of an Intergalactic Transport System called a SpaceBridge, but it is only operable for a short time period. The first test run of the SpaceBridge resulted in the loss of the vehicle and cargo. A pilot would be necessary to properly arrive on Cybertron.

Bumblebee and Spike are caught spying on the Decepticons and are chosen to be the test pilots over the Space Bridge, but they are spared when the Space Bridge operation time ended before they could be sent. Bumblebee attempted to escape and warn the Autobots, but he was captured and had his memory circuits altered so he would lead the Autobots into a trap, while Spike remained in Decepticon custody.

Bumblebee, as per Megatron's programming, leads the Autobots to a cave, where Megatron ambushes them. After another battle inside the cave, the Decepticons collapse the cave entrance to rendezvous with the SpaceBridge again.

Ratchet examines Bumblebee and discovers that his memory has been altered. After being repaired, Bumblebee discloses the real location of the SpaceBridge, and the Autobots escape from the cave by blasting the entrance open.

Spike is being prepared to pilot the vehicle over the SpaceBridge when the Autobots arrive. Bumblebee and Optimus Prime rescue Spike from the vehicle, which crashes into the SpaceBridge. Megatron, seeking to save the Energon Cubes, is blasted into the Space Bridge, which activates and teleports him.

Starscream, believing Megatron dead, assumes command of the Decepticons and returns to their Undersea Headquarters.

On Cybertron, the SpaceBridge activates, and Megatron emerges unharmed. Megatron swears to avenge this loss.
